| General Mediation Training |
Everyone has something to gain from learning the mediation process. Conflict is inevitable, and the
tools you learn as a mediator can be applied in almost any aspect of your life. Whether you are helping
others resolve their conflicts or dealing with conflicts of your own, knowing the skills of a trained
mediator will benefit you.
Northern Colorado Mediation Institute can provide people interested in learning or expanding mediation and conflict resolution skills with an experiential learning opportunity: a general mediation training 40-hour certificate course. This course is available for groups of six or more, and can be tailored to fit individual needs.
The individual and combined experience of these seasoned mediators promises to bring knowledge,
insight and humor to the subject of conflict and the many approaches we use to resolve conflict
peacefully and fairly.
Those hoping to incorporate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) principles into their own work and/or
personal lives will come away from this training with a strong understanding of the mediation process,
as well as a plan for how to incorporate what they've learned a meaningful, productive way.
The 40-hour training is highly interactive and skill oriented. It included brief lectures, discussions,
demonstrations and skill building exercises. The role plays are coached by experienced professionals
currently working in the conflict resolution field. The manual is a comprehensive guide used as a
foundation for training and, in addition, you will be provided with resource information for future
reference.
Specialized trainings are available for businesses, groups and individuals. NCMI provides trainings on various topics tailored to meet your specific needs, including mediation, communication and facilitation skills.
